Delicious!!! We had Steak& Pepper, and Chicken Leek pie….. €4.50 each… it doesn’t look like much from outside, didn’t even look open, but don’t be fooled…. It’s well worth it !!!
I should have visit this place earlier in the morning. It was almost 3 pm when I stop by and there were only 2-3 meat pies left in the hot case. (Maybe they have some still being bake in the oven? I should have asked) I got the beef and peppers. It was so delicious. Wished I bought the rest of the other pies to take away. It would have make a wonderful treat for the next morning. It was Saturday and she closes Sunday. (We only stay 2 nights here in Lagos, wished I stay longer and definitely will make this my place to go). The lady, I think she is the owner, was very nice, friendly. The place is clean, neat and pretty cozy though, I think it maybe small if it gets busy. Not many places to seat.
We were in Lagos for a month before finding and trying this place. Wow, it was amazing! We've now bought 4 different types of pies and are very impressed with the quality and the amount of meat in the pie. We took the pies home and reheated them in the oven and it tasted fresh.
Absolutely love this shop, I'd call it one of Lagos' best hidden gems. Tried 4 of the pies: chicken & leak, minced, steak & pepper and cheese & onion. They were all really delicious we just wanted to come back every time. I love the owner as well, she's really sweet and passionate. I'd recommend everyone to stop by and try one of the pies!
We had a pie nearly every day we stayed in Lagos. These are by far the best pies I’ve ever had and coming from an English person that’s saying a lot! The chicken & leek and the veggie were my favourite. She also does great homemade ice tea. Can’t wait to visit again.
The pies are great but the cakes left something to be desired. Pasteis de nata are very small and expensive. The lamington was extremely dry and almost tasteless. I would pass on the dessert if I came back. Not a lot of variety either. However, the pies have a great crust, and the fillings are savory and delicious. Also, they lasted a long time (we took some home to reheat later, and they were just as good as fresh.) No sogginess so you know they're well made. The space is quite hot in summer (it is a bakeey after all) so eating in isn't the best idea. Take-away is just as good.
We've tasted 3 different type of pie (Spianch, steak, and cheese) and all of them are perfect. You should definitely try and see.
We enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal. We tried the sausage rolls, the chicken & leek pie, the chocolate cake and the homemade lemonade. And it was fantastic! My boyfriends from the UK & he said “It tastes like home”, so that speaks for itself. The owner was also really lovely, we had a nice chat. She made us fresh sausage rolls when she ran out, so don’t be afraid to ask for some. We had to came back on the next day. Absolutely recommend the shop, will definitely come back when we’re back in Lagos. :)
